Buying advice

  1. 01

    Thickness

Off Lebanon the sea drops to about 17 °C in February and March and reaches about 28 °C in August. Think 5 mm for winter, 3 mm for spring and autumn, 1.5 to 2 mm for summer.

  2. 02

    Lining

Open-cell neoprene grips the skin and is the warmest for its thickness, but needs a lubricant to put on. Lined neoprene is tougher and easier to wear.

  3. 03

    Fit

Tight everywhere, with no folds. Water moving through a loose suit carries your warmth away with it.

Questions

How do I put on an open-cell suit?

Use a lubricant inside the suit, such as diluted hair conditioner or soapy water, and never pull on the neoprene with your fingernails: they tear it.

How do I care for my wetsuit?

Rinse it in fresh water, dry it inside out in the shade and hang it on a wide hanger. Never leave it folded in the sun.

How do I order?
