01Scope
1.1This page covers gear bought from Halime Diving, whether you ordered on WhatsApp or bought it in the shop. It does not cover courses.
1.2An item that is faulty, damaged or wrong when you receive it is handled under faulty or wrong items in our shipping and returns policy, not as a warranty claim.
02The manufacturer's warranty and our part
2.1The warranty on an item is given by its manufacturer. The manufacturer decides what it covers and whether a claim is accepted, and the remedy is usually a repair, or a replacement of the faulty part or item.
2.2You do not have to deal with the brand yourself. We are your first contact: we look at the item, send the claim to the brand or its distributor, follow it up and tell you the outcome.
03How long it lasts
3.1The period depends on the brand and the type of item, typically 12 to 24 months. We tell you when you buy, and you can ask us at any time.
3.2It starts on the day you receive or collect the item. Keep the WhatsApp conversation of your order: it is the record of the purchase date.
04What is not covered
4.1Warranties cover defects in materials and manufacture. They do not cover:
- normal wear: fading, scratches and the slow loss of performance that comes with use;
- damage from salt and sun when gear is not rinsed and dried, such as seized mechanisms, corroded metal and perished rubber;
- speargun bands and other rubber, which harden and lose power with age and are wear parts;
- neoprene that stretches, compresses or tears with use, including nail cuts when putting on an open cell suit;
- fin blades broken by standing on them, bending them for storage or striking rock;
- torches and other battery devices flooded because an O ring was not seated or a cap was not closed;
- accidents, modifications, repairs done elsewhere, loss and theft.
05How to claim
5.1Send us on WhatsApp your name, the item, a short description of the fault and clear photos, including a close up of the problem.
5.2We reply within 2 working days with the next step. If the brand needs to see the item, you bring it to the shop or we arrange a courier.
5.3How long a decision takes depends on the brand, and we give you an estimate when we send the claim. If it is accepted, you get the repaired or replacement item. If it is refused, we tell you why and return the item as it is.
06Costs
6.1Bringing an item to the shop, and collecting it there, is free.
6.2If you ask for a courier and the claim is accepted, we pay the courier both ways. If it is refused, sending the item back to you costs the delivery charge for your area.
07Your legal rights
7.1A manufacturer warranty comes on top of your rights under Consumer Protection Law No. 659 of 2005, including your rights over hidden defects. Nothing on this page limits them.
